SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship events are open to athletes of all ages and nationalities for the opportunity to participate in elite competition. Medalist will be awarded SJJIF World titles, listed in the SJJIF Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world ranking, the top three teams will be awarded World Team trophies, and cash prizes up to $74,000 will be equally awarded to the back belt male and female champions.
Medalist will represent their nation as they are awarded their medals with national flags displayed above them! In their respective weight categories medalist will receive points as follows:
The SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship will close the SJJIF World tournament circuit for 2019. The top 3 teams for the year will be awarded the Team of the Year trophies for Adult Gi, Adult NoGi, Kids Gi and Kids NoGi.
The SJJIF will proudly be hosting the 3rd edition of the SJJIF Adapted Jiu-Jitsu events consisting of the World Deaf Jiu-Jitsu Championship, World Special Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and World ParaJiu-Jitsu Championship. These events aim at providing a platform for the better inclusion and opportunity to fair play for all BJJ athletes.

The mission of the SJJIF is to unify and organize existing Sport Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Jiu-Jitsu national and/or territorial federations that share the vision of reaching Olympic greatness while preserving the unique history, culture, philosophy, and lineage of our sport.
The SJJIF believes that together, the SJJIF with its National Federations and members, will continue to develop the growing network of likeminded members who envision greater opportunities for our athletes and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as we believe that our athletes deserve an equal right to Olympic greatness!
Together, we will prove that we are a stand-alone sport and gain recognition and admittance into the Olympic program as a competition event of the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Deaflympics and in all other games of the Olympic cycle.
