SJJAF Announces 2019 Africa Open Championship

The championship is organized by the SJJAF in collaboration with Mauritius Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation and will host traditional BJJ events, in addition to Adapted BJJ events. The championship will be open to Kids, Juvenile, Adult and Master divisions for both male and female athletes.

It is with great excitement that SJJAF announces that the Africa Open will be honored this year with the presence of the General Secretary of CONFEJES (Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Francophonie), Mr. Ali Harounah Bouramah.  The alliance between SJJAF and CONFEJES has been a great step forward for the development of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Africa as  both parties are in agreement to pool their actions for the development of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Francophone Africa and Francophone countries

This prestigious event will be held along with the General Assembly of the Sports Jiu-Jitsu African Federation on 15 August 2019.  The congress will be chaired by the General Secretary and the members of the SJJAF who together will meet to not only celebrate the respective developments of BJJ throughout Africa, but come together in identifying the unique challenges that BJJ in the African continent face.  Together, they will outline solutions and actions to be taken across Africa to direct the future development of BJJ.
